Summer tools, edition 2021

The first tool, which is a thickness planer, helps me to get smooth and evenly thick boards in no time. Three other Bosch tools, give me the ability to take them with me anywhere and 3 big batteries last long, so I can be sure the job will be finished. The last one is my 3rd hand in many situations and also serves as a workbench.

I’ve always wanted to have this tool, but due to the limited storage space, I couldn’t buy it. Luckily, my storage room has magically stretched and finally, I could purchase this wonderful machine. This is Triton TPT125 Thickness Planer, and I’ve never been happier than now. Even though it’s a basic model, with no feeding speed control, I like it. Simple to use and good value for the money. Spare parts are available from the UK and aren’t expensive. That includes blades that have to be changed from time to time. Some planers don’t have snipe, this one does, but this is not a problem and there are ways to have the job done.

Cordless tools, all with big batteries, all brushless: Bosch GSB 18V-55 Combi Drill, Bosch GDR 18V-200 Impact Driver and Bosch GWS 18V-10 Angle Grinder. Excellent tools came with an amazing charger, which is fast. The whole set is well-built, lightweight and powerful. Both the drill and the impact driver have working lights, which is helpful when working in dark places. They also have belt clips. The angle grinder shield can be easily and securely rotated to give maximum protection at any desired angle.

Triton SuperJaws SJA100E, now I can’t imagine life and work without them. Such a great tool! I have 2 sets of jaws for them: soft, plastic inserts for timber and sharp, heavy-duty ones for logs. They also can be equipped with engineering, metal ones, but for now, I’m happy with what I have. They can clamp an object very strong or just lightly, the clamping capacity is also very good – anything from very small to quite wide objects. This is a highly recommended tool which can be folded for storage or transport.
